This was a huge issue when competing at the top end of arena where the amount of ranks you could jump was super important and you could spend 15 minutes or more hitting refresh and never see your max jump.
I would be interested to know your arena rank to see where you are because what your describing sounds ridiculous no offense.
However to be on your side a little I wish the change only applied to the top 200 of arena groupings because outside that max jumps are a lot less important. I dislike the feature on my alt account where I really have to pick and choose my battles to maintain rank.
I almost wish it was an option that could be toggled on or off so you could use it when it matters and not use it when it doesn't
