SQUISH IS NOT NEEDED

These last 2 seasons we've experienced that worste squish in SWGOH history. The number of players that have been moved down is substantial compared to previous times this happened. The most frustrating thing is that while this is happening to players that have earned there spot in GAC, small accounts are still being shot into kyber 1, making the situation even worse. How many of the top 50 players are not supposed to be there? Half? I think we should atleast address that issue before pushing the rest of us down so much.

  • Is there any data to back up squish being any worse than usual. The function of squish is to maintain competitiveness, it is required otherwise the gap between players will drift too far for other players to continue to challenge in healthy competition. In K3 it has been very consistent and works well.

Also the issue of inactive players being boosted to K1 is separate, and whilst needs addressing, only serves to dramatise claims squish is unfair. I think if players miss too many sign ups they should be entirely re-seeded based on where they were when they stopped playing, by average GP in brackets or into where new players are seeded. This would prevent keeping ‘old’ SR and ending up in K1.

  • I started to check the number of players in K1 last season, it shrunk  by 12.5%(!!), all due to the squish

  • 100%. The squish going downward is bad enough. I'd rather they eliminate the squish entirely.

The squish is needed to bump up all the players from Chromium that keep getting put in the top 50 in Kyber 1, which has gone on for at least a year now?

Can they just swap the Carbonite and Kyber leagues?

I'm 4.5M GP and STILL in Carbonite.  I am about to lose three in a row (where's the 50/50 aim?) to people with MUCH more developed rosters, including one that had every GL except Leia.  What are these accounts doing in Carbonite!??  No one can advance to a more appropriate league when they keep getting matched with players that should also be in a higher league.  So round and round it goes, and Carbonite ends up filled with 10M GP accounts, while Kyber is filling up with young accounts that can barely fill the team requirements.

I've been calling for this for quite some time, but we need a reset.  Hard reset rankings based solely on GP, and then go back to letting things sort themselves out in the rankings.  The only reason I even participate in GAC now is to be sure I don't drop even lower in rankings and lose more crystals.  It's obnoxious.  And these people with higher GP only attack the bare minimum - they don't want to play either, they're also just trying not to drop lower.

I'd be curious what the actual numbers are in terms of how many players are in each league.  It SHOULD be even, but my guess is Carbonite has way too many people.  I also have to wonder at newer players....  I mean if Carbonite 2 is filled with people that have multiple GLs, what the hell are players at less than 1M GP doing!?

  • I'm pretty sure the squish has to be used because they don't apply the same points for a Win v/s a Loss.

The question is Why don't they?      IDK.
They have to Squish us, or, they change the actual Point Spread per Bracket since as we battle everyone's scores go up/down but the goal is to keep the same #'s inside each Ranking Bracket.

I've never been in support of the whole move in between battle crap.
To me you Start & End in the same bracket since you have the same opponents the whole time.
This promotion/relegation after 1 fight causes more issues than it solves.

It seems like they would get better results if they just kept everyone in the same bracket the entire time & changed the win/loss points to be the same amount going up/down & then after each GAC was over they did a minor set of adjustments at the edges of each bracket to get the %s right.

The idea that players who consistently have a win-rate over 50% can drop from kyber 1 to kyber 2, is ridiculous.     The difference between kyber 1 and kyber 2 is not trivial...  you get 20 less crystals daily,  and 75 less crystals for each GAC win.    Over a month that is 1000 crystals...

Unless the goal is to encourage you to spend to maintain your rank..

Why would it be ridiculous to need more than a 50% win rate to hold a position in the highest rewarding division?

Of course the goal is to progress to maintain the rank and it most likely is intended to encourage spending to keep ahead of others.
