Just a word on statistics/data:
You're assuming that those players who have posted on the forums are indicative of the majority of players.
Consider that just in the month of January alone they've had about 377,745 downloads, with 9k of those just being from yesterday. Compared to those numbers, the 50 or so people who are vocal about disliking rebels here are a serious minority.
While a sample
can give you a decent representation of a whole, it does require it to be a
randomized sample (whereas all forum posters are by definition not random. They are people inclined to post on forums).
It would be interesting if CG did an in game survey to poll what era of characters the playerbase liked most.
