Stop tying Conquest to the Pirates

The question of Hondo's popularity is not the one you should have attacked here. I do agree that the pirates being in every feat has completely halted my progress, especially since I was taking a break when they were released and have a grand total of 0 shards for them. But overall they are a pretty interesting squad overall. Kix is a cool concept, and so is gl hondo, I dislike the focus on the pirates from the sequel trilogy due to my hatred of anything to with those terrible fan fictions of movies, but they still have interesting kits in my opinion.

I would not have picked hondo for Galactic legend, but he would have done well as a conquest of journey character I think, he is a well known and under appreciated character. I don't think that revan reborn or abeloth will ever grace the game with their presence, due to them having limited fanbase and not a whole lot of money making opportunities. 

Overall, a yoda or grievous gl would have gone over a lot better in my opinion. Or even a Thrawn (exile) would have been cool. 

Probably because conquest is being procedurally generated by AI.  They just feed in a couple required parameters and let AI pick whatever based on previous teams and requirements.  Hondo is the latest GL, so it's still kind of a "new shiny" and probably gets special booking based on FOMO.  Hondo also does well in GAC, so this is an effort to get people to put money into their roster to unlock GL Hondo.  Nothing more.

Same as datacrons.  Random AI generation other than some FDC exceptions due to era battles and OP garbage like the Vane L9 so a tank can one shot characters, because reasons.

Or you could stop complaining because you haven't got them. They've been out well over 6 months now, so its not as if you haven't had time to get a team together or work out how to cheese feats. Its not even as if the main feats require GL Hondo.

Maybe lay off him. It's a completely valid post. Too many conquests using characters that people haven't been able to upgrade, or don't want to upgrade, is an annoyance. If youd seen my post, you would have noticed that since I only returned to the game a month or so ago, trying to complete conquest feats with 0/8 characters needed is at it seems, impossible. This makes the setup hostile to new or returning players, and unenjoyable for old ones.

But they HAVE been able to upgrade and if they chose not to, that's on them.  I don't have PKHO, either, and yet cheesed the feats with minimal character builds.

Well Yoda is off the board because he's lightside.  The GLs come in twos, one is light, one is dark.  Then you have to look at the tie in with the characters.  Tano is connected to her TV series.  Pirates connected to their TV series.  With Grievous, that's not a fit.  It was the chance to release a pretty nice variety of pirate characters; I guess Hondo can be thought of as 'The king of pirates'.

Instead of crying you could start to upgrade ISB now. They will be the next required faction. Nothing surprising.

So you're whining because you don't like a toon and the faction he's tied to? Crazy concept but CG doesn't have to consult you when creating a new toon. The vast majority of SW like Hondo...GL worthy maybe not but he's a toon in cannon relevant to the current era SW is in.

As for fleets it makes the most sense from literally every angle for them to be Pirates.

This is nothing new with conquest, it rewards people for upgrading the newest toon, and yes spending money because game cant be funded on the moans, groans, and whines of entitled players feeling like their individual opinion matter in any way. 

But taking a break is a choice. I'm not saying it's right or fun--this game is designed as a money farm based around fomo and addiction. But you should also realize this if you've played the game for any amount of time. So if you need to take a break for your personal well-being, Great! But part of that well-being is being at peace with not being up-to-date on the latest things if you come back, because you should realize you'll be left behind after a break. It's how this game has always operated. 

I took a four month break myself last year. When I came back, there were a bunch of Conquest feats featuring Dark Side clones and Jedi Vanguard. But there would be no sense in coming to the forums complaining about it. In fact, I was able to cheese a few necessary feats with extremely minimal investment in them and skip others entirely, because there is a very generous overhead in Conquest.

Looking up guides may help you to do the same for this one. And if you still can't because of pirates AND other characters/factions, then maybe you should examine whether singling out pirates like this is because of some personal bias rather than lack of fair opportunity.
