Suggestion to fix the Secondary Speed Mod Fiasco without changing the mods

As we all know, there are many secondary speed mods that have amounts that would only be intended if you have no clue or desire to balance the game. It would take a lot of work to rebalance those mods and I suggest that it isn't even necessary. The best way to fix the secondary speed mods is to fix the AI of tanks to not taunt first. Simple fix. Currently there are teams that can't be beat on defense that consist of double tanks with ridiculous speed mods (with TM manipulation) and 2-3 AOE toons droping 10-16K AOEs on each enemy. This results in many dead before they can even move (This goes against the design philosophy and therefore must be changed immediately). This has created a situation in my shard that nobody even tries to attack number one anymore because the sped up double tank TM manipulation is an instant "I WIN". My solution is simple and elegant without making major changes. Make Poe and STH shoot on their first turn if they move before the enemy team. Simple and elegent. If this could be changed by Thursday, that would be great.. Thanks:)

I don't understand the nerf Wedge, B2, etc comments. I've faced those teams and they're tough, but beatable. I find that anymore teams have gotten diverse and you almost need to have a couple characters on the bench that you can alternate into your 5th spot.

I do think secondary mod stats and mod set bonuses are out-of-balance but I don't see much problem with those two characters especially and no I don't have either. Though I will farm the hell out of Wedge when he's available in September. :)

Wiggs go first drops 16k aoe, Biggs assist calls 2. Lando shoots aoe. At this point one character dies. Not even my Phasma can survive first round. If i am lucky the others are still in green. They are worse than droids even. But needn't worry. It's all balanced.

You know who I use to shut down and pwn all the go first speed teams? Han Solo. That is all.

Against this team it won't help. It can delay just one character. Wedge leadership and unique is too powerful. And Han Solo is a raid reward character. This isn't balance it's a joke.

If you can get enough speed on ST Han, like 200+ you can get some of your team to go first. Not to mention their AOE hitting Han will slow them down a little.

For some reason I found myself reading though all of this.

The game should have the ability to build solid teams with elite mods that are very difficult to beat. Those that spend more will have this advantage - as they should. Folks arguing against this are accustomed to beating any team they have faced in the past. Realize that the game is changing and this is no longer the case. Those that spend should have an advantage and those who don't will fall in rank to fight similar teams. IMO calling for nerfs is selfish in motive. If you can't compete either modify your roster, spend more, or be content with the fact that you can't just auto win anymore.

And @DoktorShin, would it really kill you to let some of the "little guys" get their payouts once in awhile? I understand the "superior," ultra competitive spirit. But it is just a game, and we're here to have fun. Cheers

That's the problem, mods are a lottery. Granted the first day mods came out I was fortunate to spend a good amount to get enough to gear out my top 15-20 characters. But I've spent more daily on trying to get the right mod combinations now that I could have picked up an Aurodium character. I'd rather have the character be what makes the mod good, not the mod itself. The mod should allow the character to fit into different builds not push out other characters that were meant for that group.

To your other point Maraxus, damage is a problem I don't disagree but a problem which is symptom of speed. If your Ugnaut goes dead last but deals 2x more damage than everyone I can only blame myself for him being able to get that damage out. But all of that changed with mods and protection.

Any way, I'm done trying to preach in this thread. Just remember this isn't personal so stop trying to make it personal for everyone else.

I believe in Fair play. You can pay a million dollars you shouldnt have a big advantage. Maybe get the stuff faster or get characters before others but that's it. Sadly most gamers now a days think they should be able to just pay to be #1.

Isn't that exactly what we get? Faster good mod than anyone else...?

This is why for now we have an edge, as soon as mod will be around for long enough so that everyone has some good one it will be the end of this edge...

So it seems we are talking about exactly the same thing...

If you pay you get advantage on short term for getting things faster

Why must I keep repeating this: even if everyone has them, it doesn't stop them being imbalanced in comparison to other mods.

A secondary health boost should be just as helpful as a secondary speed boost.
  • Yo @RayRay! Yes dr shin team is very tough. I haven't beat him yet but I'm behind on the current meta some. I have a hard time cracking top 10 these days!
  • @Calaval why are you necroing a months old thread? If you wanna talk about this, start a new one.
