I had linked accounts on both platforms, although I took my android phone for repair and they returned it with a factory reset. Meaning I lost the link to my android account. Now I can only play on my old iOS device and I've been needing to carry around 2 phones just to play. Is there any updates on this issue?
A factory reset on the device should have no effect on the link. the link is the email account (Google/Apple). logging into the same email it was previously linked to should resolve this issue.
Hi Kyno, I believe my account was linked through Facebook.. As I am using the same email for both apple and Google but they don't appear to be linked.
the linking process is through FB, but once the link is made it is to the associated account (Google/Apple). if you have been able to play on a linked google device, then you should be able to log into any device as that google account and restore your content.
It's strange because I am logged into my google account but it doesn't appear to be linked. And I am using the email I made all my purchases on previously. Is it possible that I was logged into the game only via Facebook and never fully linked the account?
Nope, there is no login through FB.
Weird.. because on my iOS device when I press the connect option it only gives me a "Disconnect Facebook" option. Hopefully this new update brings device link back.
That is because I believe the only way to change accounts on iOS is to change the account you are logged in on, on the device. Or something like that on the device level.
