- LukeDukem8New SpectatorI wonder if everyone on the boards panicked like this when they heard about heroic rancor? We are still going to play TB, just not all parts. It's no different when we first joined and we couldn't do heroic rancor. Until we farmed enough toons to 7.
So we have to do the lower levels of TB... At least we know who to farm BEFORE they even release anything. - This is a team event, everyone doesn't have to have scout/soldier to progress, just hope that enough people in your guild do.
It may limit rewards on certain stages but that would be the case no matter how they worked it with toon specific levels unless there's a single toon every single player has.
People always complain about no new content and then complain when they can't 100% the new content first go. - anonidudeRising NewcomerI hope some new truth based info comes from the devs ASAP and that it includes improved farm options for the Hoth Rebel Soldier.
All of the above is very disheartening to long and short term players. The length of a single hard node farm to unlock parts of new content is something that is very hard to bear.
Previous new content had readily available toons that could be farmed in a hurry to get started. Think teebo for the pit, Jedi droids chirpatine and rebels for the aat to be competitive in the raids. The first goal of teebo needed 20-30 days and a couple months to scratch up the squads for aat. Keep in mind that many had rebels already (and droids) as they were meta at the time it dropped.
A huge proportion of the player base is now starting cold on an extremely slow farm.
Some already have HRSo and good luck to them - @Fanatic Awesome job with that synopsis of the datamine!
@leef I hope you're right about HRSoldier being in the TB store.
One thing that really bothers me about TB is the way it undermines some of what I've tried to do as a guild leader.
As a guild leader, I really want to help my team earn the most rewards, and see each of them build their rosters to do the best in PvP and the raids. With my own inventory, a dolphin's collection, I try to lead by example, level only the toons that are "worth it" and focus in on raid squads and my own arena squad. When they throw a curveball at us, like Thrawn and CLS, I try to prepare my guild as best as I can, and it is manageable/doable, even if we end up with a bunch of toons we may not have wanted. When they say, farm the hardest toon to level, you know, the one no one wants - that is a different story.
It was hard to with Phoenix because of such a short notice, but I used a google spreadsheet to help my guys track their progress and show them where to focus all of their energy. I only got a 5* Thrawn because I was on vacation the week of the event and didn't have the time to let my 7* Phoenix auto 50 times on the off-chance they beat the 6* level. But a lot of my guild unlocked him. Some even 7*.
For the CLS event, I directed my guild to focus on Old Ben and Farmboy. Much easier than Phoenix because we had two month to prepare. Because of that, 20 of my guild were able to unlock him.
For the HAAT, which we finally were able to defeat about two months ago, I coached them on the right squads, and showed by example how effective they could be. Everyone contributed int heir own way. If they liked Jedi, they made the best possible Jedi squad, and so on. We talked strategy, linked vids, took screenshots. Tried and tried again until we beat it.
TB undermines that. There is no way for me to help get my guild to the top level of play without simply saying, "Every day, farm this one terrible toon that nobody ever wanted, and in half a year you can help in the 7* battle."
That's a bit crazy.
I understand events hide characters behind walls, and make completion of raids difficult until you get certain squads, but this is different because of the way it so obviously is a ploy to make money. I'm going to farm him, and tell my guys to farm him. There's no use in crying about it.
I believe that TB is going to be a great addition, and my guild will have to strategize, and communicate, and that will all be rewarding. We will get to use our Phoenix squads and our Rogue One squads, and that looks like more fun than farming HRbros. Honestly, if you take away the Soldier requirement, I'd be nothing but excited for this event. But it's hard to get that taste out of my mouth. - So as it seems a 7* Hoth Rebel Soldier is required to get ROLO shards. Since the devs said you Cpt. Solo to get ROLO Shards and as far as I could see there are only two special missions that requires Cpt. Solo one that also Requires HRS and the second requires ROLO itself (so its unlikely that you will get her shards from that mission).
Now it is of course still possible that you might get bot Cpt. Solo and ROLO from the new shop...if not well.
Also as sidenote the guys of swgoh.gg did a datamine about HRS and out of 103K profiles only 2.4K have HRS at 7* thats roughly 2.4%. So I would assume that the total of all SWGOH players is even al lot lower... "Yesac;c-1233118" wrote:

Wow. Way to completely and totally miss the entire point. I'll give you credit for one thing though...you can sure build a heck of a strawman.- They could just put soldier in arena. A hard node only farm takes half a year.
- Everyone should read this analysis of the datamine if they want to know more about what to expect in terms of requirements for TB:

That's actually quite a bit of content/rewards requiring 6 star HRScout and 7 star HRSoldier.
