It was a cool interview, and I'm looking forward to what comes next.
Any cliff notes worth sharing?
Some of what was stated has since been announced at the top of the forum. Everything in the interview is still under testing and subject to change. I highly recommend listening to the interview. Like, share, subscribe, all that jazz. But...
When initially asked about Geonosis TB, Carrie's preamble included... "Hard... hard... harder... hard... so hard... challenge... challenge... pretty hard..." Editing out the chaff, of course. It also included talk of synonyms for "very hard" in at least two other languages, and reference to times in the past where challenges the team thought nigh impossible were achieved within hours because players are legion and devs are not. So, suffice it to say, it's probably going to be hard. It's explicitly tuned to be high end content and kick your butt.
Malevolence was not confirmed, but it was given a rather suggestive nod. When asked if the new capital ships would factor into the new GeoTB, Carrie's answer was something nebulous to the effect of, "Everything Clone Wars will factor into the new TB."
Wat Tambor is going to be a noncombatant for the dark side, a la 3PO or Hoda. He'll be the ROLO of this one.
Geonosian Brood Alpha is confirmed to be a summoner a la MSF's Yondu and Nobu. GBA will utilize the ally slot to call on some sort of Geonosian brute. He'll be the Captain Han of yore.
As of time of recording, the plan was for GeoTB to use the old format random platoons viewable day-of. This sparked a rather extensive conversation on the burden that places on guild officers, and how one of the hosts used to spend an hour on his lunch break going through his spreadsheets and guild inventory to issue platoon commands. According to a notice inserted post-recording sparked a conversation within CG, and they are working on solutions.
From the sound of things, the platoons/platoon abilities will also tie into the summoning ability, allowing you to call backup of some kind.
The Acklay. This part... was a lot of information, a lot of it seemed fairly oblique or vague and I couldn't process all of it, though maybe that's 'cuz I was doing the dishes. I suggest listening to the interview at least for this part, because I can't summarize it well. But "mini raid" seems apt, and it was mechanically compared to the Malak event.
