Can you or anybody just give one single coherent reason why emphasizing stars more would be good for the balance, quality, or functionality of the game?

Every once in a while same old thread some guy going "stars need to matter more because I'm special" or even worse "stars need to matter more because they need to matter more."

it's expensive, so it should be "better". Can't argue with that logic tbh.
I f2p and i don't care about stars because the ROI is well.. not good. Take nihilus for example, farming his hardnode for well over 250 days, or 125 with a 50 crystal node refresh each day, just to be able to use him in raids and a slightly better performance in arena/gw simply isn't worth it imo. By the time i finished him he'll be outdated. So there's a point to be made that anyone who's willing to put in that effort, or straight up buy shards for crystals should get more in return. On the other hand, it's common knowledge that the ROI is bad, can't really complain about it when you knew it was bad going in.

Dude man let me be straight you have my full respect, I am fully aware I pay to be better then you, but that's how most games work , I've also been playing since release and I'm no joker if I were to give you my roster and we were to go head to head I'd beat you in every aspect of this game just because my top end knowledge is higher, a mini van is never going to beat a Lamborghini In a race even if the mini vans driver is better :) even though in most cases they are not!
