I've always been of the opinion that if you need any particular discs, perhaps you aren't supposed to reach the red chest.
Probably unpopular.
Think of it this way, if we didn't have a good disk setup, a lot of our teams would become useless because of how overpowered the enemies are, even in the early sectors. In the later sectors, even 100% stamina GLs with 600+ speed often find themselves waiting for the entire enemy team to go before said GLs can take even just one turn, that's not taking account the Rebel/GR/Sith/etc. modifiers. Without a good setup, a good portion of the feats would become impossible to complete, even for the best rosters. Look at the Sector 3 Geonosian feat this Conquest, I doubt there are that many teams they could beat, let alone survive against, at that stage. And all those "Win the battle with [insert latest toon] surviving". Those of us that don't/can't spend an unholy amount of crystals or money to get the toon instantly to 7* and relics need good disks to have a chance at completing the feat, regardless if it's just 2-3 tickets. Even outside Conquest, anything below G13, or G12 in some cases, is literally useless and probably won't survive one hit from the enemy.
Now, if CG ends up changing Conquest so that there are much more feats like "Gain Y buff 100 times", "Inflict Stagger/DoTs/Stun/Shock 100 times" than there are ones that require a C-tier team to win 14 times in Sector 3-5 or the latest toon to survive, then I would agree with you. But with the current state, I don't know if a lot of people would be happy that they have a great and developed roster but couldn't get any of the final crates because they end up getting trash disks and therefore couldn't complete even half the feats. For the sake of comparison, that would be like CG removing all the player modifiers from the Naboo raid while keeping all the enemy modifiers unchanged and active. Just imagine a Luminara team in the R7 tier. You may have the entire team at R7 with god-tier mods, but that doesn't help a bit because of how strong the enemies are.
