-They each seem to have a unique weapon, this along with their unique clothing and size, indicates that they each have a diverse skill set. Just by looking at the concept art, some look like tanks, while others look like attackers. To me this seems like the seeds of something that the developers could turn into a really fun group to play.
-And lastly.........They look cool:)

I may be wrong about some of the things above, and I'm not here to force my opinion down anyone's throat. To me they look like fun, if they don't to you, that's cool.

Seeing young boys' fascination with Kylo Ren and his costume (including weapon), leads me to believe that the big squiggly D corporation is going to market the kitten outta these guys. Who knows, maybe they'll be the new 'team' that kids emulate when they play pretend.
