It is beneficial to players, they won't let it stand. If players couldn't complete the event because of a bug, they'd just say, "well, we'll fix it at some point, sorry!" You got something they want you to spend money/resources to get. That's just the reality of it.
If they're that greedy then I'll play a different game. As will many others I suspect. No point pouring more hours into a dying game at that point.
lol you think it's greedy for them to not let you get a massive advantage due to a bug?
Yeah a little bit. Would it really break the game to offer rewards for these events?
It may even help player morale. Had they left the event running, I wouldn't get a personal advantage as most others that also had 5 or 6 stars malaks would also finish him. If they want to give out malak shards to anyone that was ready but didn't complete the event because they canceled it, great.
That may actually make players happy by reducing the grind a little. But it may also cost them a little money. So yes by taking shards instead of giving them they are making ther greedy decision which is the a bad pr move.
This combined with other bad pr moves and outright lies (remember the promise to ease the gear crunch up to g12 when relics were released). This could have been an opportunity to ease that at least a little.
So before you accuse me of just wanting a temporary advantage, maybe use your brain and think how this affects more players than just you and how it affects the long-term health of the game.
If the devs are so incompetent that they can't handle spinning something like this in a positive way then I have serious doubts that they are competent enough to keep this going mucu longer anyway.
But if you want to explain exactly how allowing people who got malak shards to keep them and even give them to everyone that could have gotten them would break the game, then please elaborate.
But the only effect would be to free up some get currency and slightly ease the gear crunch. If the devs are in favor of doing that as they said they were then that would be ok.
But from their actions, it appears that isn't the case. So it's not just about me gaining an advantage. It's about how the devs handle their screwups and the future of ther game.
But once again, if you think a policy of taking rewards from players because they screwed up, then please explain how that logic makes any sense.
