I would hope you understand CG is not targeting you, me or other veteran players for retention, and instead want new players to turn into whales. New whales who will spend on the Eras is what CG wants. There will be some veteran whales who spend on Era, but they are really hoping to make new whales.
Just the like Star Wars 7, 8 and 9 were not made for the die hard fans, Eras is not made to be veteran friendly as they stated. Everyone starts fresh every era. Disney tried to break into the Chinese movie market with Force Awakens because in 1977 Star Wars never debuted in Communist China under Mao. One western movie was allowed into the country on a very limited run per month, and Star Wars, Empire and Jedi did not make those lists. So Disney turned to a new movie market with the debut of Force Awakens, and it's argued that the Chinese did not embrace Star Wars just as were not embracing the new Eras.
