I personally think chewie/3PO were more easily obtained ftp than most legendary events.
That is assuming you've played for a reasonable amount if time and tried completing various events.
I had farmed wicket for zetas so no panic there. I did have to panic farm bossk for a final star but the bonus drops made it quick. Gear wise I had ewoks to the point of beating the events and bh to the point of beating all but the hardest part of the events. Getting from this level to what is needed for the legendary wasn't terribly hard and I 7 starred both on day one of the event.
And I didn't have logery or pabloo farmed when it was announced. I still don't. When it was announced, I saw that I had ignored them to the point that it wasn't going to happen. So instead, I focused on gear, knowing I may have to go higher. I prioritized elder since he must live at all costs and took him to g12 and put the med pack on him. I geared the rest to g10 or g11 (teebo gear 9 because I didn't want to waste 200 carbontis) and beat it just fine.
Full disclosure, I did have a crystal stash fir 3PO since the revan event taught me that one is needed for some legendary events. And I spent about 5000 crystals to gear faster but I also unlocked traya and took her to g11 during that time so I think it was doable without a crystal stash.
