Thoughts on the recent update (nov 2024), money being the key word

This is a see things in context of the larger picture sort of post.
For starters, let me say I have been playing the game since the year it launched. Kids have almost grown up in the time that has passed.
I have also been - for a couple of years - playing two other similar games, those being Plarium's Raid and Scopely's Star Trek Fleet commander. The Scopely game was a tragedy, both a money grab and a fairly unhealthy time grab. Raid was wonderful looking, by far the best gacha game I have played. What made me stop there, was the money grab. I spent a lot. But in the end, Plarium wanted too much. I Had to choose between Raid and SWGoH, and chose SWGoH for sentimental reasons. Plus the fact that Capital Games' SWGoH was not such a vast money grab as Raid. At the time. Now, I see things have changed. No, I will not be going back to Raid. But I just might stop playing gacha games totally. I will not even try a new one, SWGoH was my first, and will be my last. Just not sure how long I will keep doing it. I have spent more than a fair of money on my account. With the recent money grabbing changes to SWGoH, I feel less inclined to keep spending. Simply because Capital Games have become too greedy. What is this, actually? Is it the last desperate throes of a tired developer wanting to milk the last bits of the cow before sending her off to the slaughter? Is it to see how far they can go? Is it to goo to far, just to be able to step it down a little afterwards, so that users will say "ok, they went back on this a a little bit"? I wonder. I really do. I am sure there is something going on here, much more than just the blatant obvious increase in "we want your money". The game was already making a lot of money, so I doubt financial troubles are the reason. Unless there are some behind the scenes investments requiring SWGoH to make even more money. Or perhaps CG has grown sick and tired of the game, and just want to  - like I wrote - milk the cow and call it quits when the income dries up?
I am not expecting any answers, of course. There was another game developed by Capital Games, it had something to do with a ring and some characters made up by this Tolkien person. Some might know what I refer to. They managed to foul that one up so badly, that they did not make enough money from it. Imagine that. The only franchise as big as Star Wars. Fouling it up. For real. Game got cancelled, nobody got any compensation for money wasted. Same might easily happen with SWGoH. The fact that the game has been around for so many years does not really have much to do with it either way. Actually, the fact that it is so old might be one reason why we should not expect it to be around forever. The philospher in me tells me now is not the time to yield to Capital Games' money grab.
