Tier 1 consuming start tickets but not starting.

So I've been trying to finish the heir to the dark side event but I've been stuck on tier 1 at 40/80 shards obtained and yesterday I tried starting the battle 4 times just for the battle not to start. Yes I lost 60 dark side tickets and I'm furious. I've gotten to 70/80 but now it's happening again and I've lost 90 tickets.
