I would argue that anything Disney produced is of less interest to a igger percentage of the player base than OR. Rose Tico is the only toon -that despite having the shards for 5*- I haven't even unlocked and I'd personally prefer to never do.
I understand that having so much OR is wearing down the players, but it seems one if the better choices for those dry periods when there are no movies. Let's face it, there aren't many non-generic toons from the OT to be added, and another Chewy or Han is just lazy design. The prequels could be shown some love. Perhaps they would be handled together with Clone Wars.
Again, it makes more sense to have a major clone wars update when the show returns for a final season than for a one day anniversary. For some it's a milestone to have that series for ten years (despite the break by Disney), but arguably the toons would sell better when a new season is airing then on an anniversary date.
New toons from Episode 9 are also coming the end of this year.
Believe me, there are at least just as many people who prefer the in-between movies "gaps" with OR toons than another few characters from Solo for instance. And while many people are still wondering why we are getting KotOR and no toons from other games, the OR games are owned by EA. It's natural they are advertising them, not a Galen Marek. It's just another matter that story-wise the KotOR series tops any other SW-related video game.
