Time to just get rid of Light Side and Dark Side currency?

For the record, I have all of the GLs and will get Ahsoka when she is released.  My question is, do the Light Side and Dark Side currency really serve a purpose anymore?

You don't lose currency for a loss and they are both now in the shard shop which makes them almost pointless if you choose to refresh the shop multiple times (I have almost 60k shards saved for Ahsoka which will give me 1,200 currency with refreshes).

Is it time to just get rid of them at this point and just let people farm the ultimates?
