Out of interest what is sandbagging, asking people not to sign up with the aim to reduce the GP to get an easier match up, or is it making TW not mandatory, but sign up comes with expectation for full commitment to defence and attack?
A guild signs up with a limited number of members, who are on rotation, to ensure that they are facing a guild with lower GP. In contrast to the smaller guild, the sandbagging guild has simply the better, more uniform overall roster (higher relics, more omis, better crons, better teams). Therefore the smaller guild has not the slightest chance to win and the whole event is just a waste of their time.
There are multiple guilds (e.g. SHS) that apply this concept to maximize the rewards for their members.
Should this guilds be reported? No. They are only taking favor of CG not improving the flaws of an inferior matchmaking algorithm. That’s a pretty old topic which is similar for the grand arena algorithm where CG is feeding Aurodium players to the top players in Kyber 1.
Have you ever seen a guild do this or are you making it up? Sign up is optional by design, either players don’t care to sign up or their guild actually has activity standards to be able to sign up. Also, signing up with fewer members does not mean facing a smaller guild, we often have sign ups in 30-40 and face guilds larger than ourself (and often win so we do not need to game the system to maintain a win streak). It’s also often more fun and engaging if the match up is closer or you are under dogging, if it’s in your favour and you have a massive advantage then you just play through the motions, not particularly challenging or exciting. Which is why I doubt anyone is doing it intentionally. Match ups can just be a little wonky from time to time regardless of how many sign ups. It’s just highly imaginative that officers are organising it to that level for a few zetas. Guilds this size really do not need the few aero mags or droid brains 🤣. They play if interested in competing in the mode, we have maxed out raid for all the relic scrap we need. So to get bigger guilds to have more sign ups and improve match making just put more relevant rewards to their stage of game, then they will find motivation.
