TW matchups getting out of hand

When a guild like ours, https://swgoh.gg/g/13319/terminus-est/ (avg galactic power 1.3m) gets paired up with this guild https://swgoh.gg/g/172/panic/ (avg galactic power 2.1m) something is sorely broken in the TW matchmaking system. I know its not based on the total gp qued, its based on similar characters or squads that are likely to be matched up but i'm sorry. a 2m gp player is no where the same as a 1m gp player. A 2m player can pop out 5-6 well rounded and solid teams. A 1m gp player likely has his arena squad that can compete with one of those 5-6 teams and then 3-4 mediocre squads. I don't know if these guilds are just sandbagging people so they can que against lower gp guilds or if they just lack the full participation but it really sucks when you're trying to grow as a guild and que everyone up only to get ramrodded by the matchmaking algorithm. You're telling me there wasn't any other matchup out there that was more favorable? Not a one? Not with all the guilds in this game in similar situations? For goodness sakes, look at the zeta discrepancy between the two guilds on swgoh. That and average player gp should play a bigger role than "likely to be used squads and their similarities".

No worries though This post will get burried down and sent to some hole to die by CG. Their ears don't hear our issues. Even whale's who spend more than a grand a month on the game can't sway CG that much.

  • Your post won't get buried down and sent to some hole to die, it will just get deleted. But I do agree with you, some wars for us had been pretty evenly matched but others it's the complete opposite.
  • Matching by average gp would make sense actually. If one side gets outnumbered then it's only fair and they can only blame themselves.
Currently it only fits grand scheme of things - preying on the weak. Look how HSTR rewards look like now - 50 people put effort, 10 get rewarded, 10 get the taste, 30 get ...
  • Exactly. We bust our humps to keep participation up so we are posting 48-50 people just about every war. No easy task to keep participation that high on a mode that constantly matches you unfairly. At least you're good for a 1-1 record each back to back TW but i'd rather have even matchups that give you a chance of going 2-0 or 0-2 rather than the constant trash matchup and then even matchup. Average GP would make a lot of sense because it takes into account secondary rosters. If a guild isn't active in TW thats their own fault or maybe put in something that brackets off those who have qued up 45-50, 40-44, 35-39, etc and then create fair matchups from there. That way guilds that que up 30 members with 2m average GP each don't get paired against a guild that ques 50 members with an average gp of 1m. Two 1m gp players don't compare at all to one 2m gp player it doesn't work like that and CG either doesn't know this or doesn't care.
