Unattainable Characters

I am just curious, are there currently any characters that are impossible to get to 7* if one were to start farming their shards right now? The reason I ask is because I know in some games there are ...

i believe it's currently impossible to get phoenix characters to 7*, you either had to buy them or wait untill they become farmable (to some extent).
