As far as point 1, I like uniques that activate on death. It adds an additional flavor to the game, though I believe they should be slightly reworked. For instance; I think Boba would be tougher the second time around, not start tough then get weaker. He would start without his resolve buff, but when he dies revive with it and can't be revived a second time. His zeta would still refill protection on a kill.
Point 2, I understand your view that it isn't exactly realistic. However, imo, the reason uniques were reworked to not persist after death was to set them apart from leader abilities. Let's say, for example, that all uniques persisted after a toon dies. Now all uniques are additional leader and sub-leader(only affects one or 2 toons, not the whole squad) abilities. Example: if my team was Rex lead, zarris, wiggs, and zzr2. I would have one leader ability, both r2's uniques, zarris unique all active all the time. Wedge unique would also always be active affecting Biggs. As far as a 'moving' leader ability, it will add more strategy, but would be a huge pain.
