UNLOCK CASSIAN NOW

I don't know if this has already been mentioned (if it has, I'm sorry I haven't seen it), but with the 10 shards of each era character we've just been given for May the 4th (which should put everybody's shards to 25/30, at least for people who haven't promoted them & haven't unlocked cassian), I advise anyone who has enough crystals to spend them on a shard pack for each era character to promote them to 4 stars, then increase their level to 75 and be able to do the first cassian tier, unlock cassian and get the 2 r6 lightspeed tokens! It also would give you all the characters g13 instead of g12 if you promote them to level 75 (which you should be able to do, given the apology gifts we got recently because of some problems with the coliseum and whatnot), and you'll also be able to get more era currency by doing tier 4 of KX security droid's era event, so I advise to hurry up!

Great advice, thanks. Unfortunately I had just enough crystals to get the 5 character packs but didn't realise kx droid wasn't needed until after I bought it, now I'm 1000 crystals short and haven't got major partagaz. So I messed up 😭
Edit: Grand Arena payout gave me enough so I could do it. Got the two kyber tokens, cheers

I get CG has to make money but why make it that you need almost 8K crystals to do it for “free” because that means that any f2p players need to A: grind like crazy or B: save up for weeks or even months so they get 8K crystals which if you’re not lucky only gets you 30 shards to unlock a character early 😭

1,299 crystals per pack = 6,495 = approximately €60 = expensive. Who has even a thousand crystals at hand other than people with money to spare?

As a f2p player who somewhat diligent hoards crystals, if I use my gac payout and some extra crystals for the next few days I will have that amount to spend on the packs.

Nice thought. Had they not announced the era that starts tomorrow and the fact that some of those characters will tie-in to the new GL, I may have considered it. But given those announcements I have been saving crystals for awhile (currently at 24,000 after some May 4 refreshes) so that I can unlock Rotta

Well, to do it free usually, you'd need around 2.8 packs per character. The probability suggests you'll 'get lucky' once and pull 10+ shard pack once. However, there's a 33% chance that could be on the third pack anyway.
So, prepare for needing 15 packs to get the 5 characters to 4 star. That's 19485 crystals. These gifted shards makes it 6495. That's hard to refuse, especially as we can expect a powerful FDC to go with him.
Plus we got the gifted 'sorry' mats to take them all to level 75 easy.
I had no intention of investing in this era (waiting for the next one). However, for 6500 cyrstals.................it's a no brainer for me.

There are F2P players with tens of thousands crystals saved up. Just because you can't do something doesn't mean it can't be done.
