Of course you get 109/110 and don't get the best reward box if you don't finish the faction feat on the last tier but finish all other feats. I'll be able to clear it very likely still, but still a bit funny that it had to be exactly 109. Was hoping there would be a bit more room for error to get the last box. In the previous GCs you would still get most of the rewards if you did everything but the faction feat. This time you get denied a whole box and get way worse rewards just because of one feat. I don't exactly remember the rewards for the tier 7 faction feat from before, but I'm like 99% sure it's not as much as the difference between the 2 best loot boxes now.

I hate the loot box change. You're getting less rewards overall if only one feat is missing which is demoralizing and demotivating. You don't want to gear your toons anymore when you know from the start that you can't complete all of it. You don't get your rewards right after completing feats and have to wait for days. And last but not least it's another 'box', nobody likes boxes in this game as they always hide what you're getting. It gives you the feeling that your reward will be randomized like all the other boxes out there even if it's not true.Whoever thought this would be a good idea deserves nothing less but a 'No-christmas-tree'-christmas this year.

You need one thing to happen at the start otherwise it won't work with those gear levels: Hux needs to give a bonus turn to KRU, and KRU needs to use his stun on one of your toons (always Shore because pre-taunt). This will cause Sith Trooper to assist and kill Shore, while also giving himself deathmark. Then Thrawn goes and instakills the deathmarked Sith Trooper with Fracture. Then Vader goes and uses MM targeting KRU. This will cause everyone to assist and apply daze on him. Then DT goes and applies stun on KRU. Then Palp goes, and stuns all (except Hux, not sure why), then the summoned Snow Trooper removes all buffs from the opponents, DT deathmarks Hux, Vader uses a special on Hux to mass assist and kill Hux. Then you basically control the remaining 3 with stuns and fractures. Took me probably 150 restarts but it's doable.

I actually pulled it off with R5 Vader lead, G12 Palp and Thrawn and G8 Shore and Moff Gideon.

I can attest that disruptors method works. I have slightly higher gear levels but it got me over the top in about 20 digs

You don't want to gear your toons anymore when you know from the start that you can't complete all of it. You don't get your rewards right after completing feats and have to wait for days. And last but not least it's another 'box', nobody likes boxes in this game as they always hide what you're getting. It gives you the feeling that your reward will be randomized like all the other boxes out there even if it's not true.
Whoever thought this would be a good idea deserves nothing less but a 'No-christmas-tree'-christmas this year.

i agree the 109/110 is kinda bad. it would be cool if it was like100 points to get max rewards with the rest as extra. or just enough to not need the faction on the top 2-3 levels

Thanks for tips. Gideon really helps. R3 Vader, R7 Palp, R3 Thrawn, G8 Death/Gideon. Relics actually don't matter that much, total control is the key. The main issue is the rng at the beginning - the first attack shouldn't be AOE, should target one of troopers so they could revive, and you don't want deathmark on Kylos. I did it with first deathmark on white trooper. If red trooper don't get deathmark first then don't fracture with Thrawn as his first move, pass TM to Palp and pray for good rng with mass stun.

I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I’ve run tier 6 many many times with basically that lineup except my Vader is also R7 and after a turn or so Vader gets wiped and then everything else goes. I guess the game really is just about rng? Idk.

Either really bad rng or wrong turn/kill order. Additional note - you should target only those enemies who can't counterattack (and that means you must use Vader's MM VERY carefully as you can be forced to attack wrong toons). And red trooper should die asap, preferably first - his assists and AOE are basically one-shots.

I used thrawn lead, and use the lead ability special if nobody has deathmark, and as soon as a FO unit has deathmark, focus on them

Thx a lot ! Without your post I wouldn't have bother to look for the right rng (trying again when you can't win is no fun). I had Vader R3 and the rest g12 and it worked during a try where Hux called for FOST. It was quite fun trying to control the battle !

While I agree with you and what you are saying is true, there is one thing to remember. The GC events will be happening twice a week instead of once so you may or may not end up getting the best loot box, but you will end up getting two of them.

So...take the good with the bad?
