What I think about Datacrons, and how CG could fix them.
Now, when I first heard of these temporary boosts, I thought it would be a good chance to shake up the meta and bring weaker factions and team comps into the limelight. Unfortunately for us players, they have become one of the most broken things in the entire game, and just another way to incentivise spending on the latest addition to the game.
Now, I appreciate that, as essentially a business tool, SWGoH needs to make money and datacrons are a great way of encouraging people to buy the latest unlocks and form a broken team due to the latest set, however when this makes certain characters and mechanics unquestionably overpowered, like Leia at launch and the latest set involving Deflection Chance. I do enjoy the prospect of farming up a specific boost that you can tailor to your Arena team and giving Conquest some actual endgame viability, however.
To fix this, I propose several changes:
Thanks for reading this. Even though the concept of a CG response to this is unlikely, hopefully this can prompt readers to engage in further discussions about the future of the game. Also @CG_Tusken_Meathead some feedback would be great.

To fix this, I propose several changes:
- No specific mechanics for new and existing Galactic Legends. As the most powerful characters in the game, buffing them powerfully using datacrons destroys the meta reports and doesn't give a clear picture of their ideal team and power in relation to other GLs. This also applies to obvious lifters like Drogan and other characters who have a mechanic specifically designed to change a GL's meta team.
- More datacron drops from later Conquest nodes. This gives players, especially those new to GAC, a chance to develop new sets at a similar rate to their opponents.
- Focusing more on developing non-meta teams. A real potential for datacrons is to make preexisting teams relatively viable again. From the top of my head I can reel off Jawas, Wookies, Imperial Remnant and OG Rebels as examples of this. One more far-fetched idea I have is the concept of using DCs as a way to create new factions without adding new tags, like synergy between a 212th Battalion with Cody and GK or a Blizzard Force with Veers and Snowtrooper. While it may have limited options, it would help to create essentially new teams and potentially even make defensive teams offensive and vice-versa.
