Yes, I'm a whale, but I'll give some pointers that help me win GW that has helped all the F2P players in my guild...
First off, we know nodes 6, 9, 11, and 12 are the hardest (for most).
So in node 1, use your best crew and ensure all your moves are completely reset and available in future battles. If not, then use That toon in the next battle and ensure by the end of battle his specials are available.
In each node after the first, rotate your toons to use your secondary and third best teams while keeping one or two of your best characters in so you always have first turn.
Ensure you keep enough protection on your toons in these "easy" battles in nodes 1-5, otherwise restart the match and try a different combination to win while ensuring your specials are available in the end.
Once you get to node 6, you now will have at least two full teams (if not three) that will have a first turn before the enemy. Try with your best team. If you lose two characters or are unhappy losing your best toon, restart the match and put in your second or third team to at least get rid of one of the enemy's toons.
I always try to take out Rey first. If she gains foresight, remember not to waste a special or large hit since it will 100% miss. If they have QGJ, he's a good guy to get rid of, or Phasma, GS, Anakin, or Han Solo. Whoever you think is the most threat or with the least amount of health is a good person to get rid of. Then put your best team in and squash them. I always restart if I lose one of my main guys at this point (meaning have lost a secondary or third team) and keep restarting and using different moves until I'm happy with the end result.
Ok, so you beat node 6...after that ensure your main guys have full health and full moves available when you reach node 9.
Anyway, that's the best advice I can give. Hopefully you figure out what works best for you.
Remember when restarting, the enemy will hit the EXACT SAME WAY if you use the same moves on the same people. Sometimes using QGJ's basic as opposed to a special one time can alter the rest of the opponent's targets and moves. I experiment. It takes time.
Hopefully you're not hitting "auto" in the beginning matches to save time. That's such a waste of your big moves and of protection on your main toons that are needed in the future.
