What Maul requirements do you actually need?
I think I know the answer but would like an official one. I have a 5* Maul (Hate Fueled) so I would only need Vader at R6 to complete the remaining journey, but will I actually need all the toons at ...

Getting them to 6* lvl 75 or whatever the level is very easy comparatively to 7* R6, that isn't the question.
As well as "not using x toons for GL" is exactly the same as this situation. I would have had to use the previous toons if I didn't do the event first go round.
It was never mentioned what will happen in this case, just that it will be harder. I'm assuming we will need all toons at R6, but it would be nice to have an official answer. They could remove the pre req (which would mean I would only need Vader at R6) and have it open tiers. It wouldn't change anything if you did them out of order, you would still be star locked at the same points.
What I am seeing is the first tier, I would not be eligible for because my STL is not 7*, I am 20 shards from 100. So I can’t go above R5 right now. I can’t even re-play the level I cleared originally when maul came out. So I have no way to confirm or deny if you need the other toons to open the next tier where you’d earn maul shards.
