Also subjective opinion can be wrong. Trump is a perfect example, people who vote for him have WRONG IDEAS.
This is the only question worth responding to--You're equivocating opinions and ideology. An opinion is that I like apples and you like oranges, both are completely fair opinions because they affect only us as individuals. Ideologies are when subjective opinions are applied universally--so if I like apples, passing a law that everyone must eat apples at least once a day (Presumably to keep the doctor way, which, incidentally, is basically the new health care plan.......)
So we can safely have differing opinions on what movies we prefer without risking falling into moral relativism or extreme right-wing ideology.
Which brings me back to the broader point that DarthTaral and others are missing: I'm not going to explain why I like ep7 more than ep4 because I DON'T HAVE TO any more than you have to explain to me why you like oranges more than apples. Subjective opinions that affect only the individual are all equally valid. Saying that I like TFA more doesn't mean:
1) That I don't like A New Hope.
2) That you have to like TFA more.
3) That you have to like TFA *AT ALL*
4) That New Hope is bad.
5) That I think TFA is the best movie ever made.
6) That I think TFA is even the best Star Wars made.
Taral's posts assert an awful lot of assumptions. Why is that? I'm asking again--why is me liking a movie so important to you that you're going to do a multiquote straw-man filled dissection of my responses? I'm not answering because I can already tell that no answer I give will be sufficient--maybe that's a awful assumption on my part, but given how aggressively dude is pushing, I'm pretty confident in this. Like, if I say that I like that its casting was more diverse I'll be written off as an SJW (as if that was something to be ashamed of rather than take pride in), if I said that the special effects were better I'll be written off as someone who likes the shiny new thing, if I said this is the Next Generation to A New Hope's Original Series that uses more contemporary storytelling techniques that are more readily-accessible to people born in 1982 I'll be called some dumb millennial who can't handle 1970s pacing, if I said that I think the combination of diversity and updated storytelling will open the floodgates of fandom to whole new audiences that would otherwise have ignored the franchise I would probably hear something about how they're "not real fans."
None of these are the reason I like TFA more, but if helps you sleep at night you can pretend they are. That said, even if they were, they're all completely valid reasons to like a movie. If someone said they like A New Hope better than The Force Awakens because ep4 has 4 vowels in its title compared to ep7's 6--THAT IS STILL A VALID SUBJECTIVE OPINION.
