If you did a 'GAC' search in the forums, you'd get as much mileage as you need. It doesn't need a new thread. The main points are these though.
1. Forget the name it's stupid. Basically the points are league points. GAC power ranking or GAC league points are much more accurate over 'skill'.
2. A lot of newer players to GAC complain about GP, but are not aware of the big picture, just how the system is affecting you. Trust me, GP isn't the answer.
3. The chances of you finishing last aren't as high as you think. If there are 7 million GP rosters in your bracket, they're there for a reason. TBH if they're there, it's because of inactivity. You can check their history on SWGOH.GG to see how much they've actually been playing recently.
4. All that said, yes there is a problem here. The system we have works very well if everybody puts in the same amount of effort and does their best in every match up. However, if players simply are freefalling and not playing often, you get these matches with a distinct imbalance.
Your win percentage won't be affected by it much (as a lot of these big guys aren't going to be showing up). However, the spirit of the game and fun aspects definitely are. There's very little fun in winning vs a giant that probably isn't going to play.
Hopefully CG will look into a solution to inactivity and giants falling out of skyland and hopefully soon.
