Why are adults still unable to use EA Connect

I began this game as a minor, and I’m happy to see CG encourage minor safety by not letting them connect their EA account. However, why is there no way to update this? I am now an adult, and have been for a decent amount of time. Yet I am still unable to link an EA account and thus unable to access the web store. I’m not someone just annoyed I cannot get the free goods, I’ve spent a decent amount of money on this game. So why can’t I access it in its entirety?
