Why are the tuskens DS rather than Neutral?

Why are Tusken Warrior and Chieftain dark side characters? They seemed like regular people just living their lives in Book of Boba. Is it pure for game balance purposes?
We wanted players to be able to bring a full Tusken squad into Dark Side Territory Battles, and players who are still progressing can use the team in the Dark Side table in the Cantina, so yes, mostly about game balance.

This was the answer in the Q&A, but having them as neutral wouldn’t affect the above surely? It would more reflect the tuskens place in the universe and actually give more use to the neutral tag rather than just the token Hondo.

The more I think about it, the more I believe that Jawas and Ewoks should be dark side. Desert thieves and cannibalistic murderbears. The Ewoks possibly helped out of empathy rather than taste for stormtrooper flesh, however unlikely that is, but there is absolutely nothing altruistic about Jawas.

Ugh please don’t perpetuate that tripe. The people who created that fan theory and wrote those articles need to look up the definition of cannibalism.

On the subject, most of the droids would probably be neutral. And the ugnaughts.

Well, being the only sapient species around, we don't have a word for "eats sapient beings but not their own species", do we?

Carnivore is the word you are looking for. Well, technically omnivore like humans, since IIRC there is a scene where one was eating a plant.

And part of the problem is how you define LS/DS. In my mind, in game they are political more than anything else. Supports the empire, supports the rebellion, etc.
  • I guess they dont change things in the game already, ie, characters alignment.

Change characters alignment, in rare cases, break the teams ppl using.
  • A similar discussion exists in SWTOR because some LS decisions your character makes seems they should be DS and vice versa.

I suspect in the near future there might be an increase in neutral tags. I'm sure it is on the list, just a matter of time.
