I don't care about tournaments, but taking Ally Point rewards away from the daily quest hurts new players and free to play player a lot by depriving them of 24 bronzium packs per day.
I don't really need these any more, but I got at least 4 characters from these in my first two weeks that helped out greatly in filling out my roster early game.
Taking this away "because of no tournaments" is a sofism, especially since there is another good way to spend them.
There is no other possible reason for taking away this reward from the daily quest other than trying to force starting players to spend money. And any owner of a casino could tell you that people will spend way more than they should if you just get them playing.
