Why General Veers?

It's not just veers, it's all of the imperial troopers of which there's quite a few in the game and all of which are quite bad except deathtrooper and TFP if he counts

They're all being reworked on may 4th to synergise with the veers lead

He was probably the only imperial that got things done. He took echo base. He even said he won to Vader before the Battle was over which if he was wrong meant his death. So he deserved it.

Just comparing his abilities to others (like Vader's leader ability) they were underpowered, so it was for balance in a way

Like said above every empire character (or majority) are getting reworks. But Veers should have just been one of the many and not "highlighted" like DN. It should be Thrawn.

He has a pretty interesting back/side story that's worth reading about. I'm kind of glad he's getting the buff.

From a lore standpoint, he was a stalwart. Like Patton, he wasn't an armchair commander, he was out there in the thick of the battle alongside his troops, whereas bureaucrats like Tarkin took a hands-off approach and never really accomplished much of anything other than making wry comments.

In context of goh, his kit was tepid and to answer the OP's question, I recall quite a few people calling for a General Veers re-work -- there's been multiple threads. Especially after having cartoon characters and their ostentatious packs rammed down our throats this was a nod to the old school members of the player base who grew up with the OT.

Kinda odd that we even have General Veers over General Tagge, Admiral Motti, Admiral Ozzel, Admiral Piett, or even Captain Needa. Veers role was pretty small in comparison to Piett and Ozzel.

Piett lucked out when Ozzel the fool botched the Hoth Campaign. Veers was the one who made the biggest splash by blowing up the rebel shield generator on the ground and he ended up losing his legs at the end of the battle. Vader was a personal fan of Veers for his guts so it's nice to see him get a bit of a nod in this game now.
