Why is it impossible to make something (anything) fun in this game anymore???

100% agreed, started playing this game because i'm a massive fan of Star Wars.
Remembered when i first 7* my Darth Vader, or got yoda. I really enjoyed grinding to get the shard/mats to do this. Nowadays it feels like i'm grinding just to be able to participate. Gone seems to be the days where i enjoyed the unlocking of characters.
Pirates??? i have absolutly no bond or sense of joy for having to farm these, they mean nothing to me. Its a **bleep** shame that over time it feels to me like this is no longer a game to enjoy but more like a job to keep track of the things required to have some rewards. 
And yes, people are going to say, this is how all games are, you grind to get progress, but who says grinding need to be without emotion? The feeling of getting attached to the character, finding out where he shines,... Anyway, i hope that CG takes notice of the complains the community seem to have, but i have serious doubts judging by the lack of communication.
