- As the title states, shouldn't Old Ben be tagged Rebellion?
Discuss - Or for that part, the ewoks to a lesser degree.
- The enemy of my enemy is my friend. That's not the same thing as joining a cause.
- This silliness has to stop.
To the OP: Please read your avatar. Question posed. - because he was a jedi helping out a few rebel members, not joining there ranks.
- Inyus, please check my thread on the front page concerning this.
- Ben never joined the rebellion and as for the ewoks as with a previous post. the rebels became a "part of their tribe" not the other way round. so you could take the rebel tag off luke, leia and han and give them ewoks synergy !
- The debate is pertinent.
Obi Wan fought for the republic for a long time, and the Empire gaining power by means of a coup naturally pits heroes of the Republic against it. The Empire is nothing but a SITH Empire - throwing a ruthless gauntlet over the galaxy (at least a large chunk of it).
As a Jedi and as a Republican, Obi Wan is a natural enemy to the Empire and the Sith, as both are the same.
A small thing: a cry for help in a hologram, is enough to put him up back into action, as he gets able to concile his sentinel duties over Luke with the cry for help for the Rebellion - with nary a word over payment or fame.
Old Ben was a Rebel all along, even as he was lying low, since he knew the Skywalker family was key to kill the head of the snake of the Empire. - Oh no the horse still lives. Quick beat it death again.
- Helping the rebellion is not the same as being a rebel. He was definitely a rebellion sympathiser but hid away from it until it came to him in the form of Anakin's son (destiny?). He never got close enough or involved enough to be considered rebel though.
