Why the negative backlash for new shard farming update

Aside from the increased prices in shard shop I don't see why there's been so much hate for this update. I mean double drops for any toon that has been in the game for at least a year is great especia...

I, for one, was psyched, because that would make me more susceptible to farm the ship FOSFTF in Guild store.
Not amused.
Plus, I got a 10 shard Ewok scout a minute ago, and it's only worth 5 shards anymore.
