They really messed up this time, and I think they did it deliberately. It's hard to imagine that they didn't know what they were doing. Also the silence on their part makes it even more obvious, (they are waiting for the dust to settle, for players to accept their new reality). By significantly reducing overall progress they are hoping people will start spending to progress. However with their current prices I think they missed the mark, as I don't see people start spending $500+ per toon.
They are pumping out a new toon every week that was already impossible to farm+gear+relic, and now with the raid reward nerfs I'm sure 99.5% of people don't even care about new toons. We can't even keep up with the old ones.
I'll stick around because of the invested time/effort, but I'm thinking of going completely free to play.
I was previously buying crystals, gear packs, shard packs, but after such an obvious money grab move on CGs part I'm done spending anything. If it takes me a year longer it takes me a year longer.
