Wicket/Talzin farming...I don't understand the complaints.

When an event like CLS rolls around that some people couldn't get right now and didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars, other people who got him said pretty much pony up some cash or shut your mouth...

Both of these seem horrible flaws. Now yes, the length of the farm is absurd, but it wouldn't be an actual issue if it was just some character. This is MUCH worse than CLS.

You don't need Talzin/Wicket for the bonus tiers though. In reality even if you could care less about MT/Wicket...you'll probably end up farming Ewoks/NS eventually anyhow for the zetas.

I think you missed the point: you have twice less Zeta by not having MT or Wicket at 7*.
