So I hate 3v3 gac and love 5v5 gac. Currently I do well enough to get promoted to Aurodium when we finish 5v5s but i get demoted back to chromium after 3v3s. If i just dont sign up for gac when its 3v3s will i get demoted?

It will demote; happened to me my last missed gac

Pretty sure that if you don’t join you get treated as if you went 0-2.Which is better than joining and going 0-3, but you do get more crystals if you join and minimum participate.Edit: Found it in the dev Q & A:

I, for example, haven't been climbing fleet arena since, I think, Negotiator was released and feel absolutely happy

If they are that lazy, why would they bother looking for an exploit to get more crystals

Isn't lazy people are those who are looking for exploits? Because they are lazy to do it as they "should" do, so when other people work as intended a lazy person find exploit to work less:)
