- I need the gear more than I need more omegas.
- There is ways to obtain the gear, there are the same mechanics involved with obtaining omegas with a huge increase to the need for Omegas at the high end level.
- When you hit level 80 you get one a day. You get them in TW twice every other week. There's events every week. You can buy them in fleet store.
Just be wise about who you give them to. No need to upgrade every ability. "BnBTobacconist;c-1593514" wrote:

There are ways to obtain omegas without Omega events as well. But you don't need 150 omegas to take your characters from Gear 8 to gear 9 like you do with Carbantis and Stun Guns. You might need 21 omegas to fully upgrade a characters abilities. Do your cantina missions, finish your daily events and do your challenges in Wednesday, Saturday and Sundays."Arcaver;c-1593510" wrote:

In general, at lower levels gear is the bottleneck, it quickly becomes omegas. Especially once you start getting zetas from fleet store.- I'll have to start paying attention to specific numbers, but now that I've finished everything I need from the fleet store and am solely focusing on zetas there I think I might actually be getting zetas faster than omegas now... At best they are near equal.

It's not uncommon if you're buying zetas regularly. You can balance this out by also buying omegas there, but granted it's a steep price. Personally I buy zetas and wait on omegas from other sources.- Since you "need" so many more omegas then zetas (both on their own and as part of a fully crafted zeta) I don't think it's absurd. I don't do it myself, but I can see the rationale.
- Omegas one can reasonably farm in one month(we’ll just use July as an example) :
31 from daily challenges
1 from daily log in rewards
7 from omega battles (assuming no refresh)
20 from challenges (This is my best guess as I haven’t seen a drop rate mentioned anywhere. I can usually get 1-2 on days where they can drop. More for regular challenges and less for ship challenges. 13 regular challenge days and 14 ship challenge days in July.
5 from GW Another guess based on my experience.
10 from misc events / TW / etc
So let’s say 72 conservatively in a month and for simple math we’ll say you could get 900 in a year.
What’s the total number of Omegas that could be equipped?
Omega only:
Basic abilities 153 x 5 = 770
Special abilities 222 x 5 = 1110
Unique abilities 54 x 5 = 270
Leader abilities 28 x 5 = 140 (I know there are a couple of leaders that only take 3 but not spending the time to figure that out)
Add 25 for bounty hunter contracts
Total of 2,315
Zetas:
Special abilities 13 x 16 = 208
Unique abilities 65 x 13 = 845
Leader abilities 24 x 10 = 240
Total of 1,293
Grand total of 3,608.
Moral of the story:
I’m making assumptions here, but if you’re someone who has played since at or near the launch 2.75 years ago, had never taken a break and found a way to get 100 omegas a month since they were launched, and can likely make some use out of 75-100 or so characters out of the 153 currently available before this next kotor group, (like many people from this time can) you would be hard pressed to be able to have the equal amount of needed omegas per characters you were able to gear. If you invested into characters financially in this same time frame, the divide gets wider.
I’m guessing OP and others like him desire a way to keep these two things in line. Not necessarily a “buy all the omegas you want” scenario, but one that helps them keep up with the characters they are developing. - I’ve been playing since 2 months after launch. Most of my roster is 7 Stars minus new toons and stuff like Mob Enforcer/CUP. And everyone is lvl 85.
My GP is over 3.6m and I agree the omega crunch is real. I’m sure for newer players its not an issue. But if anyone is doing zetas on a regular basis you’re deciding on whether or not to use your omegas on idk say the BH payouts vs using a zeta on someone for TB, TW, or any of the assault battles.
Yes resource management is a big part of this game and maybe newer players have much better drop rates but I could stop doing zetas for months and still not have enough omegas.
Everyone has different experiences but it would be nice to have them drop more frequently where they are supposed to drop that’s all.
Just my 2 cents as someone that’s been playing this game for a long time.
