There are ways to obtain omegas without Omega events as well. But you don't need 150 omegas to take your characters from Gear 8 to gear 9 like you do with Carbantis and Stun Guns. You might need 21 omegas to fully upgrade a characters abilities. Do your cantina missions, finish your daily events and do your challenges in Wednesday, Saturday and Sundays.
I’ve only gotten one omega from cantina in two months of farming the veterans, it’s an incredibly low drop rate. Your best chance at omegas are daily challenges, events, and daily activities. Unless you buy them.
