This post is an L. Update is well received because it's an excellent update. Also, you want a wide roster, not a tall one. I say this as someone with a 97% win rate in GAC vs Tall rosters.
Your critique is entirely predicated on player choice and leaves out the counterpoint. I'm fairly convinced that this will lead to fewer dropped farms. A character you've taken to R5 and G12 is less likely to be left than a G8. Even if it does increase this phenomenon, that would be a player choice issue not a developer design problem.
Also, most new players aren't "looking to create a strong account," they're looking to play a Star Wars game.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. Being a person who is deathly afraid of intellectual confrontation, normally I would leave it at that. Maybe my opinion doesn’t matter because I don’t know my win rate in GAC, or because I haven’t been playing a year yet, or I hate Gungans. Maybe it weighs more because I am an actual new player speaking from recent experience. Who can say? I played this way. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe other new players are as well. It would have been nice if you had offered up anything other than a blanket “it’s the players fault”. I hope there was anything in there you found thought provoking, particularly about a marketing strategy designed to create more shiny things. A developers job is to get people to make the decisions they want. Last point. If people didn’t want to make strong accounts, why are there millions of views of posts on how to do so? It’s naive to believe someone just discovered Star Wars and decided to search out the game.

You can look up your GAC win rate on swgoh.gg. But go ahead, complain about barriers to progression being removed.
