First of all ^ this. DN doesn't heal himself, he gains MAX health. So on top of your lets say 30k total health, you gain more. You don't heal yourself up.
Second - It is not bug that when you switch from DN lead to another lead, you don't regain your protection. If it did work as that -> Use your usual(let's say Zmaul) team, they are left with low hp, put DN as a leader, regain all of their health, go back to ZM and now they have full health + protection. Yeah, not going to happen.
