Does anyone know what the Developers were thinking when they okay'd Nihilus' Lead Zeta? It's going along ok, nothing mindblowingly good about it, and then all of a sudden at the end it says, "and Sith allies can't crit." ... Why did they soil his zeta like this? It's not like Sith hit especially early or hard, even with crits.

Umm... you do realize the "Cannot Crit" part is included in his lvl 1 leader ability, right? This has nothing to do with the zeta. The zeta is bad regardless of the critting, as it only adds 50% health steal.
Someone ought to remind you that a Leader Ability doesn't need to be a zeta, even at Level 8. Well, that renders your entire reply mute now doesn't it. ?
Then why complain about his zeta, when the part of the leadership you don't like is unrelated to the zeta level. Why did you level up a lead that made it so your characters could not crit on the Lvl 1 ability?
☝️I'm rarely caught off guard by such incomprehension. The dismay lies in the Leader Ability having a zeta attached to it at all. If it did not have a zeta, it would be just another weak Leader Ability that may be serviceable in the rarest of circumstances.
There was considerable misunderstanding about this one zeta in particular as it wasn't made clear how other sith who regenerate protection would fare under this Leader Ability which converts protection to health prior to battle. Even now, players are still unclear as to whether Dooku's zeta (replenishing protection in part) still fully applies under a DN lead in the form of added health or not. I don't believe it does. But I could be wrong.
The zeta is largely considered dated. Will it ever hold value or be improved? Possibly, but what I object to is people making an honest mistake (due to lack of proper information being provided to them) in a pretty hard world, and not being provided a means of setting things right. The responsibility in some cases is at least shared if not owned by the provider.
There is no information that is not readily available to the players that says anything other than that Nihilus leadership is bad, zeta or not. Its just not a good leadership, especially not considering the other sith leaders available.
You are right about 1 thing though, i have no idea why you are going on about zetas at all. Some zetas are just bad abilities, especially the more dated ones like this. It still wouldnt be worth omegas either.
