Faction balance
Well first time post but its something that I would like other people's opinion/thoughts about.
Ok so we have 2 factions one is almost centered about buffing oneself and the other debuff the opponent. Both factions have some ways to also debuff and buff themselves. However for both its not their main thing you would say.
This in and off itself is nice. However here comes the gripe I generally have with this. As soon as your able to make yourself immune for debuffing on a whole it quickly shoots out of control.
I find the easyness of how to plug certain chars together without any inherent synergy. A really bad thing to be had.
I've seen the posts nerf chaze nerf that. Tbh I can't agree with either pro's or con's however what if you take the route of making it like Rex's LD would only work for the Clones. Same goes for Chirrut's cleanse for example making it only work for the rogue 1 squad. Trying to give each team their own thing and perhaps even viability to some degree. Since you can just plug in something that is just "too" good to pass up or perhaps to versatile on a whole.
I do think however there will never be a true balance. Every game be it with numbers or otherwise will ever have it. There is always that 0.1% more effectiveness utility out of something that will bubble to the surface. However the counters are also not there. Besides perhaps Ventress or B2 or Death Trooper, i can quickly think of. There is no viable way AKA a team with the same sort of powers or powers in a different way or synergywise to be able to withstand this Cleanse and or tenacity up meta. In no way would you be able to make a group of these 3 chars and for example counter or balance the triple cleanse meta, even if you added immunity block to the list of options.
The whole speed mod argument stays true in the state of you go first you win. Something that will most likely never change. And even though I have the mods I find it very frustrating to have to grind or hope on that 16 speed secondary to be able to win. But that's another discussion in and of itself.
But when you look how many characters can cleanse or even have acces to a cleanse be it (resistence Finn,r2) (triple cleanse) (jedi's) (rebels). You basicly lose the idea of your identity from what the darkside is about. Now what does Darkside get in return, for these other plug and play characters. Well from what i'm seeing not much. Sure you have before mentioned characters to cleanse their buffs. But we have no way of cleansing ourselves or making sure the debuffs stick. Since even buff immunity is cleanseble. The moment this would perhaps be not cleanseble you might see some mechanisms from both side to be not persee counter something but find both sides capeble of doing something. Instead of seeing the Green fist of nope above their head. So one side has it all. While one side is severly hamstrung cause we don't or have the options to even deal with the cleanse in and off itself. this counts double if tenacity up is applied.
This is something that has been rumbling in my head for a while.
