Yeah it is. My team gained victory and TM so they should keep it. Force close and airplane mode is pure cheating. Remove that.
If someone's game crashes or the app hangs up, how are you claiming victory?
The only "fair" way to remove this would be to make it so that unless the battle is finished nothing counts. That would be a ridiculous change to implement.- If you ask me, I think the real issue is preloaded turn meter to begin with. First off it doesn't show anywhere the preloaded turn meter in the squad battle screen so you don't know how much TM they have if they won a defense battle. Secondly, preloaded TM for some teams is absolutely ridiculous, especially teams that control TM like Assaj lead or CLuke.
You get rid of preloaded TM, have all abilities reset instead to 0 at the start, and people won't use the Airplane mode because I they would actually accept the health damage they did and not risk giving a gigantic advantage to a team that already gained a victory. "Kyno;c-1956047" wrote:

I understand this point, but crashes are rare. Airplane mode is rampant. All games have a drawback when you disconnect. Many games give you a cool down timer from entering a new match. In many games if you had a number of disconnects in 1 day you will receive an hour or two ban. Does it stink for the rare player that gets a disconnect? Yes. Stop playing and go somewhere where there is a better connection.
Why don't people just use the forfeit button that is provided to us by the devs? Why do they use airplane? Because it gives an extra benefit. I had a bad run against a Mace fleet where my entire team was dying. I was going to forfeit but then fell prey to the Anakin reinforce + 5s AOE combo and my whole team got wiped and I did not get to use the forfeit. I lost fair and square and Mace got to keep his TM.
Also the preloaded TM advantage is not what people make it out to be. In the second match cool downs are blown and turn order is messed up. By the 3rd match its a complete wreck. Restetting to fresh starts the defensive team back at its most optimal state.
My previous guild played TWs since they were released and never used it and won our share. I am aware of a recent match where a guild (that uses airplane) faced a guild with a grand total of 9 losses in all of TW and they won again and they preloaded.
Really, its just not needed. I guess I just see no logical argument where someone can say with a straight face:
"Allowing us to fake a service outage to give us more benefit than the button provided by the devs is absolutely how it should be.""VonZant;c-1956082" wrote:

Said like someone who has never had to deal with a full G13 DR/Malak arena team with TM preloaded.- Just build it into the game to increase the QoL for those who are using it (no more restarting the game) and the fairness for those who don’t understand it. Add a message after every defeat in GA/TW/GW and every raid attempt (along with the score you achieved) asking if you want to accept the battle. Give the option to turn it off for those who are annoyed by it.

Crashes are far from rare. I know of dozens of guild and alliance members who were borderline unable to play any PvP for a long time due to rampant crashing. And I’ve seen a far amount of posting about crashing.- I'm not on any one side of the fence on this but retreating is programmed in the game. People who vastly underestimate a team, might not get a turn so they use the force close because they will not get an option to retreat if they are about to get wiped. Whether or not it's cheating is up for debate and has been debated before.

Why is there an option to retreat then?
I would guess that button was implemented long before TW and GA were released and was intended for Galactic War and perhaps raids.
The teams are AI controlled. I see no reason not to give them this successful defense reward.- I use force quit or retreat far more in raids than anything else.

I believe that when you force quit, you lose the round and the players used. I have no problem if someone wants to concede 15 points.
The Airplane mode is lame. That's borderline because if I'm not mistaken, you don't get an L and you retain the squad.
