Hounds tooth issue

Has anyone else noticed that when you use the basic attack, if it has taunt, then the enemy ship gains protection rather than HT......

Is that enemy ship Biggs? If Tie X1 is present, HT will cleanse on its basic, X1 causes target lock to reapply, which causes Biggs to regain protection.
