How Does Arena Ranks Work?

When I joined my shard, it had a maxed out Phoenix squad for ages, though thinking on it that may have been a cheater as the top 5 is populated by lots of Palp leads with G11 only maximum.

The shards themselves are 20000 player limits. Hence why you see people gaming the system by timing their entries (level 28) so they can get in at the beginning of a new shard.

However, once you are in a shard that's your shard for the rest of your time in the game. No moving around.

A "shard" opens when the previous one closes, they fill up at 20k players.

You dont ever leave your shard, you are locked in with players that started around the same time as you, since this is one of the more fair ways to group players in a game of this style.

It's all about moving to the top of the shard to get better rewards.

As Far as I know, you join a shard when you start the game. When a shard fills a new one is created and new players join that shard.

I do not know how long it takes a shard to fill... might be a month. Meaning some players in your shard might have joined a month before you did. Some players might suggest creating a new account if you think you joined your shard late, as joining a shard right after it starts is a huge advantage.

Basically don't go AFK or other players in your shard will fly above you and it'll be hard to come back.

Also, does anybody have any ideas about breaking the META to be near the top? For example at the moment on my new account the top teams in my shard have Phoenix and players around me (me included) are looking like they're working towards it too. How do you stand out among the other 5000 phoenix squads in the shard if everybody is just doing the same thing? I guess that is a question for another time :D :D

Keep working and get Palp and a rudimentary Empire squad. Especially if you spend and buy Vader in.

Palp eats Phoenix for breakfast, eventually you'll start seeing more variety. Usually NS, FO and easy to get teams.

Phoenix vs Phoenix early on or even later is time out in arena under normal circumstances.

I think there might be some new shard tracking groups on discord.

But also, I think people stock up on energy and resources before they hit level 28, so right after they enter arena thry jump a bunch of levels right away and have more gear than people going at a fluid rate.

There's a ton of discord groups who keep an eye on these things. They have spies everywhere.

Where to find them, you'd have to ask somebody else. It's not breaking any rules to do it, so if you want to do it, go ahead.

I would say it's likely not an exact science but there's a fair amount of wiggle room.

If I am rank 100 and beat someone who is rank 80, then I become 80, and they become what? Do they become rank 81, and then this pushed everyone between 80-99 down one rank?

I think you switch places. Now early on that's a big jump of course but once you close on the top end it's marginal. Also unless you've really been slacking off or had a long time from the game it's equally easy to get that spot or better back.

Been a while since I moved anywhere in arena so I can't remember for sure.
