Just unlocked ships, what now?

New shard/returning player and I've never done ships. I'm trying to stick to a plan as strictly as possible but I didn't put too much thought into ships. I'm currently finishing my phoenix team (week left until all 7*), then it's on to Empire > FO > CLS team > resistance.

My question is this, what do I put into ships, if anything, until I've unlocked a larger content of characters? I'm currently working on Biggs in GW store as Zeb is finished, should I just continue to only work on fleet with my spare resources? Do I level up my basic fleet? Any help would be appreciated that will keep me on my current plan but also won't gimp me in fleet later on. I do eventually want to build a nice fleet but imo everything else should come first.

  • If ships are not too big of a deal for you, just work on those that will unlock the final teir of the ship ability mats challenge.. Zetas are up for grabs in that final teir which will help all-round.
Wedge and Biggs ships are very good to begin with, Ashoka and Five’s ship are worth a look at too. Pheonix ships are alright and Cassians is easy to get from the cantina store.
As for DS ships, slave one and vaders ship are always good plus if you farm Kylo Unmasked you will be earning his ship at the same time (also earns that currency to buy cassians ship as mentioned above.. win-win)
At the moment ships are not worth very much except the zetas, but i feel that will change very soon so be prepared!
  • Biggs is one of the best ships, especially early on. Since you're farming the character already, farm his ship too.

Imperial Tie Fighter is another great ship for all capital ships, but he's even better with Executrix. That's a ship you're going to want upgraded.

Whatever you do, don't get seduced by all the character shards in the store. Upgrade the ships as well or you'll really start to fall behind in the fleet arena.
  • You can never go wrong with biggs ship but I’d recommend working on ships only if you’re comfortable working on the crew members for it. For example ahsoka has a decent ship for reinforcement but ahsoke herself is kinda lackluster.
Other ships I’d def recomend are slave 1(you should be working on boba anyway) anything with the word tie in it, and scimitar

But for the topic of your question on how much you should pour in it depends on the ship. You should always grab tie advanced shards whenever you see them but biggs and fives come around more often so you can be slower with them if you want. I’d just recommend getting to the final tier of the ability mat challenge asap
  • Tfp and tarkin fit in well with your empire plan. You are already done with phoenix so unlock those ships. The ships are average but because the pilots are your best people they will be your best ships for a while.

Krum is one of the better first order options and he and his ship are together on a 10 energy cantina node. It's a great node because you basically get double drops (ship and character) like phoenix ships the ship isn't amazing but in the early game your best pilots are the best ships.
  • Hey dude, I'm level 57 and in the same boat as you.

What I am going to do is to unlock phoenix ships + Biggs ships + TFP + Ashoka/TFOP/JC/Geonosian ship all under Tarkin ship.

    The reason of those are:

    - Phoenix ships are worthy since I have them as my main arena squad.
    - Biggs has one of the best ships and I want to use him when making the transition to a more classic rebel squad.
    - TFP ship since I will use TFP for R2 event
    - Ashoka/TFOP/JC/GS since I must cover that fifth slot (In a future I plan to replace this slot with Vader/Boba ship)
    - Tarkin for the same reason as TFP.

I think I can have a good start with those ones without falling behind in fleet arena. Hope it helps!

  • Thanks guys! Man I wish I was smart enough to check the forums on my first go around with this game! I'll work on phoenix ships, Biggs and DS/empire/tie.

Are you Talilover from channel 4? If so I'd really love to hook back up with you guys! I joined with my original account (Yezz) last month but my iPhone broke so I switched to android and started fresh on a new shard. I'm only 60 at the moment but level fast, have a game plan and would gladly stick it out until the end with you guys, including making several squads to help out in all areas! I've had a bad run of luck with guilds this week and miss the chat+Han shards! Ign Yezz 958-113-861

I would use JC as the 5th mostly because you probably have him fairly well levelled/geared and because you can use both his assist and his protection abilities to keep Biggs up while he's tanking.
  • Only one combo is viable: Tarkin/Thrawn, Biggs, and dark side ships. These would be, especially, the: ITF, FOTF, TR, Scimitar, TA, Slave I, TS. FOSFTF might be good, but they just came into farmable status so not sure.

Don’t waste time farming anything else, you’ll just waste ability mats and gear. Don’t waste time putting Biggs with other Rebels, it ps a waste of ship ability mats and/or gear. The ONLY viable combo is Biggs going to the dark side and having the Empire feed him target locks. Nothing, and I do mean NOTHING, will beat an Biggs/Empire tank combo right now. Rex can only hand out shields once per turn IF you have 5 Republic ships, the Jedi Consular is worse, and can get a max of two taunts with Rex if you run him with Plo and Mace. Your ships will get shredded regularly because the AI is useless most of the time, but is ridiculously effective at removing taunt. Biggs gets shields and taunt instantlywith every target lock. Then add in Tarkin’s or Thrawn’s cooldown atracks, and you’ll shred teams that are much higher than yourself if you’re careful.
