Lando has been decimated
I've been working against the grain in arena meta for some time. Forgoing focus on typical meta in favor of a group centered around Lando and Ackbar as lead. This was always risky because Defending AI behavior with Lando's AoE was unreliable at best. To be competitive, the squad, which includes Poggle, Leia and Phasma, had to be manipulated via mods with speed to align buffs to maximize his impact with double crits. It was always risky but has kept me solidly in the top 50 on a mature shard full of Rey's, RGs, clones, Old Bens, and QGJs.
Fast forward to the latest update and I feel the work put in to break the meta bore is all for naught. A fully maxed Lando is now gimped in every way. First, the reduction in crit damage via armor. Before, his second buffed Double Down was hitting for around 14-15k. Getting the stars to align and drop that combo was the crux of a successful battle. He is a one trick pony and that is clear in his representation in top arena groups. Now, the exact same execution is only scoring 9-10k crits. That's a 33% reduction in damage to a character that has no other tricks and a tediously slow build to his max potential output. Speaking of slow...
Lando speed was also nerfed, I cannot say the amount but he was already slow. Now he's a snail. I suppose Lando's over-representation in meta needed to be addressed. Now we will surely see some room made for a few more Rey, JKA, and RG. Lando just took up too much room at the top. I mean he was already universally good in every squad, right? /sarcasm
I am gutted. So much work and effort to build on a unique non meta character and the rug gets yanked. Not for balance, not for diversity. If this is just a side effect of the armor changes then please have a look at addressing Lando to bring him back to the effectiveness he had before the changes. I can't continue to support this game when the investments of time and money I put in are made worthless in an instant without warning.
